Tadpoles





  1. Tadpoles
    She ran each morning
    to the puddly pond at the
    end of the street
    where tadpoles
    flashed in the early
    sun - deep black
    commas punctuating
    the water with
    parenthetical expressions

    until one morning
    they were gone

    leaving not even
    one declarative sentence
    of explanation
