Overwhelmed

Pick a word
a word just one
from the billions
that swirl
can it be done?
Simple words
Objects shooting
Like manic stars
In Alice’s fall
Down that mythic
Rabbit hole
Hot buttered toast
Jam, along with
Heart pulsating
Imagined anxiety
A anthropormorphized
Whole
Pick a word
From all tis
A task designed
By a tiny sadist within
From the innocent “Who”
To Dante’s Inferno
Shakespearean sonnets and
Emily’s rhapsodic pondering low
Words taking on form hanging
Upside down in a tree
Running along side the shore
At the sea
Words combining and separating
Roaring at me
From this gargantuan mass of
Words pick just one
And write from that poetry?
