PAD Challenge Day 2. Full Moon

Full Moon by Bobbi Jones Jones
Prompt by Khara House

Full Moon

It would have been enough
to have a full moon
pulling the crested waves
to sandy shores
it would have been enough
to have a front chilled blow through
white caps in the bay
It would have been enough
to have the wind whip
Each singular, would have
sufficed
Coalesced
the bay reached
with a century long yearning
toward the touch of the ocean
with time removed as impediment
nothing would stand as obstacle as
they met in
crashing, crushing, sweeping
passionate embrace
with thought of no other
in the blind lust of
Sandy

  1. Oh, Pearl. This is so well spilled.
Hugs and prayers, from under that same waning moon.

  2. This is an interesting view of such a big storm. It does seem alive, doesn't it, the ocean, in moments like that?

    1. Thanks Ina - yes the sea has always seemed alive to me - and this meeting of sea and bay - so unusual and devastating seemed somehow filled with unbridled and destructive (to others) passion.

  3. This is an interesting take on the storm. It's funny isn't it how sometimes the ocean seems alive, and as biological as we are?

  5. Pearl, wonderful! I love the last few lines...you build the tension beautifully.

I am posting some of my poems on my site and FB, too. Been having troubles posting on the PAD site. But, maybe that will change.

Good to read your poems! Blessings, Linda

    1. Oh "Hat" a poem that I wrote gave you chills? Well now I have chills. Are you doing NaNo - if you want to help each other out (just with some rah rah cheers email me at drpkp.com ... or not as you wish). Not sure how far I'm getting this year round.

  8. This is excellent, Pearl - one of your best, I think. Tying the full moon to Sandy had crossed my mind too (they say that if she had hit during the full moon the flooding would have been even worse), but you ran with it and succeeded.

  13. Am glad to know you are all right, though life in a hotel is far from being as comfy as being safe in one's home, Pearl, have been thinking of you through all the news reports of the devastation in your area.
