Happy Mothers' Day

A public domain photo

Happy Mothers' Day

From the sweet lips of
the mouth of the Universe
flies a vow soft as the drone
of butterfly chants floating
through time and space
binding under the one shared
sun the promise to answer
the circling wish of women
filling with infant velvet the
voided crook of empty arms
opening the fist of a wanting heart
as each mother falls headlong
into that cave of echoing love -
filled forever

    1. Marian - Honestly I don't know where these come from - the wordle words obviously provide enough of a prod to unleash some unconscious process - I often say that I feel like the transcriber more than the writer. Thank you so very very much.

    1. I liked that line myself - I am so happy that you enjoyed it as well. There is nothing quite like the feel of a baby in one's arms.
