On the current of starlit miracles
As I unravel the un-speakable terrain
I roll back the carpet of hate dark as
night in tear-wet smiling I beg for peace -
file my purpose with the universe and
then take flight in the updrift
of starlit miracles already
visible on the fringe
of the blue marble
shimmering
spinning
spinning

I love both the shape and the wish..you wouldn't think it would be so hard...and yet sometimes the world seems to fight against miracles and straight...a bright, shiny and glowing poem

Stellar line....!!
I shed tears as well for what seems to block us from peace.
ReplyDeleteOh yes this works so well to the prompt :-)
DeleteLove the visual image of the spinning top and spinning world...spinning miracles as one world....I will keep that picture to give me hope.
ReplyDeleteExquisite! I love this one, Pearl. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteLovely poem. I will check out the facebook group as well.
ReplyDeleteLovely menorah, you posted here. Happy Hannukah!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the title.....and resonate with "tear-wet, smiling, I beg for peace." Me, too, kiddo.
ReplyDeleteI do hope that soon we will figure out a way for our world to spin as one. There must be a way.... I do like the shape of this poem as well.
ReplyDeleteThis poem is beautiful, the teardrop shape and words fit so well..may peace find a way..
ReplyDeleteFor those of us that have through (comparatively) peaceful times it is hard to see that peace can come to such a diverse species that looks for any excuse to hurt and humiliate each other. That coupled with selling our earth to developers who care not for a thriving future world for all our children but only money in their pockets now. Sadly the people we elect to govern us merely provide us with sops to satisfy us and think nothing the future either, while justifying war with anybody just to keep us prepared for worse to come. When hope is all we have left there will be a tax on that too!
ReplyDeleteHow I hope the universe pays attention. Beautiful poem, Pearl.
ReplyDeletethis is a beautiful prayer for peace....
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. I love visual poems like this. Resonate with the message here. Thanks for the read!
ReplyDeleteI like how you resolve the woeful world by looking further especially "file my purpose with the universe". Great pattern of words too, from the many to the one - OM
ReplyDelete"roll back the carpet of hate" to reveal the possibilities of oneness--nicely done in content and form.
ReplyDeleteWonderful, hopeful piece, Pearl. Love the shape as well.
ReplyDeleteSpinning altogether as one. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteI recently read that the left wing and right wing are still attached in flight to same bird.
The top spins; as does the world and life.

This works so well poetically in all ways ... and who could fail to echo the sentiments?
ReplyDeleteSo many yearn for this peace. Your poem is brilliant. In content and shape!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shaped poem ~ I specially love this part:
ReplyDeletefile my purpose with the universe and
then take flight in the updrift
of starlit miracles
Such wonderful use of the space and shape ... I love this Pearl and like others, I hope the universe is paying attention.
ReplyDeleteWonderfully shaped poem. I shed tears for what keeps us from peace but I still hope, always hope. Spencer is Kanzensakura
