Great ending. One just cannot be sure of children who may go through lots of spills when growing up! Wonderful write Dr Pearl!

Thank you so very much Hank - delighted that you enjoyed the ending.
DeleteThe image of "neglected as tossed dominoes" really stuck with me. Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea where that image came from - but it arrived to be shared - I deeply appreciate your comment - thank you
DeleteParents are not good assessors of children. Children have an innate determination to survive...despite their parents. Siblings and school friends are their guides. No mater how miserable their past was I am sure they hold beautiful memories there too.
ReplyDeletePirouettes of pain is a startling contrast Dr Pearl.
ReplyDeletePirouettes of pain immediately made me think of the skittering ball in a pin-ball machine...which danced well with your photo image and your words...
