Water under the bridge
True as you say
there is a great deal
of water rushing under
our bridge
Yet, seems to me
that as long as we
are standing on the
bridge looking at
the water –
as long as we
take care
neither to fall nor dive in –
I believe
I believe
I still continue to believe - that
we can cross to the other side
Together.
The water flowing
Sparkling … forward
After all.
Hi Pearl, I have been crossing many paths lately and bridges have helped me immensely. I greatly enjoyed the positive ending, keep flowing forward.
ReplyDeleteAww thank you rch... keep on moving keep on flowing.
DeletePearl,
ReplyDeleteYour bridge perspective is very useful. Remaining focused and retaining strength, should ensure that we can remain clear of the waters and safe from danger....
Thank you Eileen... sometimes when waters are troubled there really is no other way to navigate.
DeleteI do hope so, Pearl. It is our best hope, to stick together, to speak put together, to vote together, to act together and get to the other side of this madness.
ReplyDeleteAs do I Sherry .. easier said or written than done - personally or globally - as George Carlin said "you gotta wanna" sigh...
Delete"as long as we / take care / neither to fall nor dive in –" this is the only way to get to the other side 'together'. 'Together' is such a precious word. Journey of life is such that this 'taking care' is also becoming difficult. I love the end so much.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sumana ... I very much enjoy your perspective and therefore deeply appreciate your comments.
Delete". . . as long as we

the water – " I think some of us will fall in, but a couple standing strong is all it takes--maybe even just one--to strengthen the rest to continue to the other side. Indeed, I count on it! Great poem!
Thank you Susan, yes standing strong and being committed to getting to the other side is the key , isn't it?
DeleteThis is wonderful, Pearl! If we all work together, we can do it. This is such an uplifting poem. I love it.
ReplyDeleteOh Mary, I'm delighted that you enjoyed! You write such lovely poems I am happy to have moved you.
DeleteAh yes, everything is in motion all the time anyway, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteAhhh yes... everything is in motion all the time... Thank you!
