"Justice will roll down ...."*
What is this thing called justice ?
ached and yearned for - believed
in as a manna'ed after life, be -
moaned as ever trampled - punishment
or promise - a song that escapes from
parched souls - slaking or taunting thirst,
this sound of penitence and pleading,
collapsed in weary tear streams - a blessed
thank or outraged curse - a drive of wishes
for of all that can be in a golden chariot of light -
a wealthy child's party, ponies and spun sugar cake -
castles in the sky - or a fallen mud hut in fly buzzed
waste - This many faced thing - justice -
grace notes cast, voted each moment
in the each and every by the each and
every - as we stand together and apart
all exist in the torrent spill or spray as this
thing called justice rolls down ....or as ....
inexplicably wondrous as salmons upstream
swim, somehow reaches up to push us all
what is this thing
called and calling
“But justice will roll down like water and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream” Amos 5:24,” Comey wrote on Twitter; he also cross-posted on Instagram.
I think justice is both the simplest and hardest of things.... which makes it so interesting.ReplyDelete
Justice rolling down.........in some areas, it seems to be, its moment at hand. In others, so much injustice one can scarcely believe it. A relevant topic in these times, Pearl. There can be no peace without it.ReplyDelete
I wonder as well, what is this justice. Someone seems to be riding roughshod over every aspect of justice at the moment. We seem to be swimming upstream as a nation. I hope we can make it.ReplyDelete
This is so powerful! I feel justice does have many faces and tends to vary (most conveniently) in society.ReplyDelete
I often wonder about this question. It seems an important one these daysReplyDelete
Oh this thing called justice is indeed pushing us even upstream as you say...and thankfully it will keep calling us until we answer....loved this!ReplyDelete
An evocative write. I like the concept of justice rolling down! Your contrasts are well drawn.
Sadly we all want justice until it hurts us and is no longer fair because its blindfold has slipped.ReplyDelete
Thank you all so very much - your interest and comments are so deeply appreciated.ReplyDelete
