Nostalgia
First
To that primal place I follow ...
into the garden of youth –
rise in
conflagrated- creation of shadow
and
shame – come near – reach - eyes
touching - the base of an other throat
with first kiss –
burst
to flame
rise in
ReplyDeletea conflagration from shadow and
shame ... like that!
A sensuous conflagration, it seems!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing quite like that first kiss, is there?
ReplyDelete'bursting…
ReplyDeleteto flames'...a most beautiful moment...
Wow! That was a great reading for me.

Brilliant use of the given words, sparse yet special!
ReplyDeleteLove the rising to flames... sounds like rebirth
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of eyes 'touching'---it's not a combination of words that we usually read and it gives the reader pause to think about the intimacy of it.
ReplyDeleteI can feel that looking back at that first kiss......sigh. Made me remember mine. LOL.
ReplyDeleteInteresting setting
ReplyDelete"into the garden of youth"
Have a good Sunday
much love...
Just gorgeous writing!
ReplyDeleteFirst kiss... lovely!
ReplyDeleteI am absolutely certain that nostalgia praises that moment more than it deserves--and yet, that is where I, too visit first. Beautifully captured.
ReplyDeleteConflagration is right, for me at least
ReplyDeleteI love how the construction leads me on through the music and imagery, to that final burst of flame.
ReplyDeleteFlames rise and roar in this one, Pearl. Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the heat of that first kiss, Pearl. :)
ReplyDeleteSo much delight in a first kiss...unless, of course, it misses the mark. (I have had both experiences, ha)
ReplyDeleteLovely portrayal of a special memory, dear Pearl.
