Lost

Lost

Ah the ghosts of my blind love-image
run with arms akimbo flutter-fast-flailing
beneath the flapping of the blood-cape,
once wrapped shroud pure-light-tight
now assundered-torn, dragging-heavy
dark-drenched in filth

Ah the ghosts run until ragged, desperate
for a candle to light their mission to regain
the hill of simple-spun  unconditional love
upon which they thought they could
they would, rest -  in the soft rain of
forevever

  2. I had always imagined ghosts searching, searching but not really expecting that delicious rainy softness to rest in forever. You have changed my mind! Thought provoking almost enticing.

  5. on a cloudy day, ghosts are rampant in a small setting. they are said to appear when there is a blackout in the farm areas. I don't know if I'm scared or ecstatic, your last words are deep and heartfelt.

  7. Great and vivid evocation of ghosts we'd rather not encounter! I like the analogy with the soul. Like the soul that can only rest when peace is achieved, these ghosts need love to stop their restless haunting.

  9. i wonder if those restless ghosts will ever find that light once more...or eternally be on that quest...

really a great sense of movement in the opening stanza...the use of rhyme, consonance, alliteration really pull it along...akimbo is such a cool word too....nice play....
