August Vision & No more (war)

clouds-and-sun.jpg

August Vision

They appear over the hill
Walking in fine clothes
Singing
Bare walking feet free in
The pool reflecting
Hundreds of thousands
Ears ring with the sonorous
Timber of soaring hope
They appear from all corners
Towns, hamlets, cities, and
Across that United Nation
Together in that August sunshine
Spilling together as one
Overcome

No more

there is no rationale
for war when after
blood is cleaned
and rivers run
with salt of tears
enemies meet
in futured years
there is no rationale
for war
to ease the
irk and angst
and outrage
of conflicts arise
find any non lethal
contest and award
a prize as onlookers
spectate in cyberspace
and protect the sacred
flesh of this our joined
human race

Peace and Love

Fierce Little Sister

Fierce Little Sister

She was a fierce little sister
No filters over her cupid bows
Standing in the keep of bully's shadow
Shouting "Enough" holding sharded
Pieces of his Christmas train
Appearing at the sound of his cries
A gusting pint-sized superhero
Hands clenched on tiny hips
Shouting away the bitter taste
Of bullied words still choking his throat
She was a fierce little sister, pig tails
Bouncing in fierce indignant protection
Of my flung big brother dignity
As she shouted "Out"
And I sullied in shame flung in the dirt
Rose in amazement and
watched as go, he did.

Springs Eternal

Springs Eternal

Out south in Bitter Springs
Gusting on a trail of crushed
Cries, comes that train whistle
Scattering shattered
pieces of blooded heart-ache
Piercing enough to shudder
The peaceful sleep of lovers
Locked in fierce filters of forever
Clutching each other in the sudden chill
Of Passing Dread
In the shimmering keep of dreams
Out south in Bitter Springs

If and when...

If and when...

In the corner
Of the floor of
My closeted heart
Stay the deactivated
Dreamed dreams
Persuaded during
Some period to be
Folded by degrees
Placed by degrees
And years further back
In the space of dim
Nestled in vision
Tribute to the waiting
“if” and “when”

in the rustle

Street Light by jose alhambra

in the rustle

in the rustle
listen
to the shirr of
petals falling
on the skittered
back of startled
creatures burrowing
deeper into the
sweet green leaves
growing brittle
just a little
day by day

listen
as the cerulean marble
shifts on stalwart axis
some
held tight
others
flung into the
ever night
all
in the rustle
below, beneath,
beyond
the buzzing
business of
living …

listen…

Listening Advocate RLB

Street Light by jose alhambra

Listening Advocate RLB

One of two hundred?
I think not
Rather One

who opened
with a golden key

the door to a
 street cobble
stoned with
 winding words

petaled with soft chestnut
blossoms falling

as poets met
and

listened

to
 the
words
of

one

and one another

*************

Congratulations RLB – for many who began sharing on the original Street- you will always stand alone in a special place, on a mystical endless winding lyrical road…

In the Wallow

In the Wallow

too often

they circle in the Wallow

too often

they scatter the striking illuminate of living breath

too often

they race - pounding the concrete in stark incentive-pounding pavement without a hitch they strain subtracted of sentience

too often

the Wallow rises to stand- the whirlpool to suck, inhale, and swallow breath scattering ashes voluminous unexplored ephemra lived particles shimmering as fireflies; silver slivers of life flickering in the blowing void, the whisper of unwallowed- winds, of love postponed, of laughter repressed, of change continuous -

of life surrendered in sorry exchange for inertia in the

Sirened, wanton, call of the Wallow

too often
