The Carillion Bell

frozen-water-drops.jpg by Petr Kratochvil

The Carillion Bell

The carillion bell
on the avenue
cascades through the center
of the town’s
people, flung-stunned in intrigue
Catapulted on the curve of only a rippled octave
One note folding into another – ringing
through this diaphanous dimension
to another
incredulous souls stilled in slack jawed disbelief
silenced in mid question by
the carillion bell shattering
to infinite crystal droplets
falling as fine tinkling rain from a clear sky
Responding as one voice in clear pitch-perfection
The single sweet answer to all, for all, forever ...
Is change
Always change
As the carillon bell reconfigures and rings anew
Heralding the mystic magic of another breathed day

Pay....

  2. Sometimes I wish my bell (or other broken treasures) would reassemble, as new. But, alas, they don't.

  3. So true about change, Pearl. Always change....but we do have to appreciate what each day brings and 'herald the mystic magic of another breathed day' as it happens!

  7. Love your imagery in this poem - "flung-stunned", the "incredulous souls"....love the thought of those tones ringing out "as fine tinkling rain" - and LOVE the intriguing photo of the frozen water droplets. Wow.
