In the Wallow

In the Wallow

too often

they circle in the Wallow

too often

they scatter the striking illuminate of living breath

too often

they race - pounding the concrete in stark incentive-pounding pavement without a hitch they strain subtracted of sentience

too often

the Wallow rises to stand- the whirlpool to suck, inhale, and swallow breath scattering ashes voluminous unexplored ephemra lived particles shimmering as fireflies; silver slivers of life flickering in the blowing void, the whisper of unwallowed- winds, of love postponed, of laughter repressed, of change continuous -

of life surrendered in sorry exchange for inertia in the

Sirened, wanton, call of the Wallow

too often

  2. A beautiful rich stew of images. So loved the sonorous alliteration in the "whisper of unwallowed winds..."

  4. That last line "Sirened, wanton, call of the Wallow" was very effective and very difficult to resist.

  5. You have given 'the wallow' breath. Best to try to escape 'the wallow,' I think. Smiles.
