PAD NOVEMBER CHALLENGE - DAY 1

Matches

I understood the little match girl
standing outside in the snow
watching all inside
warm and safe
aching
I never understood those
inside warm and safe
and happy never seeing
the little match girl
standing outside in in the snow
watching

  3. Oh, how sad! Yes, this was the first image I got when I saw the prompt. That story had always touched me, but then I put it aside and wrote my first poem. When I came home from work, however, the Little Match Girl poem just begged to be written.

Glad we are sharing this PAD! Glad also that you and yours are safe.

    Blessings!

  5. Hi Linda - Yes, so happy to be sharing PAD - hope the commenting becomes less ROBOTAUTOCRATIC.... nevertheless - so interesting that we both chose that little match girl... I loved yours so very poignant. Happy poeming. I find I am less than enthused this year, still working from a hotel room due to Hurricane Sandy and so many things on my mind that are not particularly revelevant to a novel challenge. Nevertheless, plugging away as a good distraction.
