In the mist - 3 poems - In the mist - haiku +1- signpost

In the mist

In the mist
She swirls
On ankle strapped
Heels
Powdered perfection
Trailing
Perfume and
Bright scarlet
Smiles in the arms
Of her tall cop
Brass buttons
Shining
In the mist
Beyond
As flocks of
Cardinals
Clock their
Time to soar

~

the thing about mist
is that like dementia
you cannot grab hold

of anything …

We follow
Running
In the mist
Never catching
Up in time
Except for
A brief glimpse
Signpost: Dementia
Shimmering

  1. I love the imagery of your first, the straps, brass and burst of cardinal are poignant. Nicely written, Pearl!
